What is the Difference Between a Defective Product and a Bad Product?
It is crucial to differentiate between a product that is dangerously defective and a product that is ill-functioning. A bad product may include something that is not up to the proper standard with functionality and may be exchanged for a new one while a dangerously defective product is literally dangerous to use as its malffunctions may be harmful.
Examples of bad products may include a cracked and leaking reusable straw or cup, a fraying clothing item or a pen without ink inside of it, whereas a dangerously defective product may include a ladder with a cracked or broken part. making it unsecure, a children's jack in the box with a faulty spring, causing a potential injury or an overheating appliance, causing burns or even fire.
Extensive Experience In Product Liability Litigation
In July 2003, attorney Jim Frantz, testified in a hearing before a subcommittee of the House Committee of Energy and Commerce. The subject was the dangers of ephedra (ephedrine) diet pills and specifically the role that this dietary supplement played in the death of Baltimore Orioles pitcher Steve Bechler.
Mr. Frantz served as lead counsel in several class-action cases involving ephedrine and other nutritional supplements, as well as cases involving defective vehicles, aircraft and oilfield equipment.
